A North Bohemian truck from the workshop of Mario Kress took a silver position in the 2nd stage of the Moroccan rally. Pilot Gert Huzink crossed the finish line less than five minutes behind the Czech winner Martin Macík.
This year's longest travel to the start awaited the crews on the second day of the race. All stages end in the Zagora bivouac, from where the participants always set out for a new start. This time the trucks had to cover over two hundred kilometers, but the organizers promised a Dakar-style special section as a reward, which was supposed to be the most beautiful stage of this year. Along the route, the crews were fighting with the highest dunes of the Kingdom of Morocco. These are up to one hundred and fifty meters high, and on the way back they drove through the dunes of Erg Chebbi again. In addition, low tourism is evident in this landscape. The remote Saharan zones of southern Morocco are deprived of routes created by tourist 4x4 vehicles, which made it difficult for crews to navigate. However, the North Bohemian Renault from the MKR Technology workshop did very well again. Only due to two shorter stops he lost the lead in this stage and finally finished less than five minutes behind the winner Martin Macík. Overall, however, he is still holding the leading position.
The third stage will be this year's longest stage. More than three hundred and forty kilometers are waiting for the trucks and in total they will have to cover over six hundred kilometers.
