Jongbloed Dakar Team Triumphs Over Challenges in Dakar Rally Stage 3 Gert Huzink faced a demanding third stage on Monday, finishing eighth, but minimizing damage. The Jongbloed Dakar Team aims for a strong comeback in Tuesday's fourth stage to climb the rankings.

Currently sixth among trucks, Huzink is 1.16.15 behind the leader, Ales Loprais. Optimistic about narrowing the gap, he emphasized the need to avoid additional delays and capitalize on competitors' challenges.

The 733-kilometer stage from Al Duwadimi to Al Salamiya presented difficulties. Delays arose as slower vehicles impeded progress, leading to material accumulation and minutes lost. Huzink navigated challenges, including a buggy collision and two flat tires in the dunes.

Describing it as a "tough day," Huzink highlighted unprecedented dust and obstacles. Expressing concern about potential disqualification with repeated challenging days, he aimed for a smoother, cleaner start in the upcoming stages.

"I've never had so much dust before. And never before have so many buggies and cars failed to pull over. We shouldn't have too many days like this because then we drop out, and it becomes difficult," said Huzink, underscoring the team's resilience.

Anticipating a tough fourth stage covering 631 kilometers from Al Salamiyah to Al-Hofuf, Huzink emphasized staying out of trouble and securing a favorable position. Despite the challenges, he commended the mechanics' swift two-hour service, ensuring the truck's readiness for the next stage.

As the Dakar Rally unfolds, Jongbloed Dakar Team remains determined to showcase its capabilities and deliver strong performances. The team expresses gratitude to sponsors for their crucial support. Stay tuned for updates as they continue to tackle the desert challenges.
