All machinery is loaded and there is no way back. MKR Technology is heading for its another Dakar. That is marked by number four. Team of designers from north Bohemia will participate in the 40th edition of most prestigious rally in the world for 4th time. Party around Mario Kress this time prepared a trio of race trucks, which are now on a ship bound to South America.
“Now is the time of year, when our whole centre is empty and we have time to finish things that we were postponing during the year In fact, we can call the upcoming agenda the Christmas clean-up” smiles Klára Kress, MKR Technology manager.
Past weeks were very hectic. The team took part in a traditional event, RTL GP Pre-proloog in Dutch Valenswaardu. Dutch members of The Dakar rally are presented there. As a part of collaboration with Renault Truck Swiss, the truck could be seen at the utility vehicle Expo, TransportCH in Bern. After many team presentations the team machinery set off from French port Le Havre, from where a charter ship set off for South America. It is the tenth time the teams will be racing for a so much sought Bedouin trophy. But no time for idleness in Židlochovice. The centre needs to be prepared for other activities. “Still before Christmas, team VTR and Team 14 circuit specials from French championship of racing trucks will arrive here. We need to do complete service and maintenance and prepare them for the next racing season” added Klára Kress and made clear that there will be no pressure over Christmas in the team. “In the second half of December, everybody gets holidays in order to have a rest, recover and be ready for Dakar in January. The whole team will arrive there right on the New Year.” added Klára Kress.
Anniversary 40th edition will start on 6th January in Lima, Peru and with one day off will conclude in Córdoba, Argentina on 20th January. „Sheer luck. That is all we need. It will be a hard edition and we all know that without a bit of luck no one can do it. We made many things differently this year, we have tested a lot and compared our settings to get the best possible result. Cars are in great shape and we want to fight for the best position and for this we definitely need luck.” Mario Kress, lead designer and author of the MKR Adventure rally project, believes in good vibes.
