Martin van den Brink silver at the Dakar prologue

Totally sensational start of 40th edition of Rally Dakar for MKR Technology from North Bohemia. Truck with Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink and Daniel Kozlovský, a technician from Roudnice nad Labem, Czech republic took silver in the first stage. Aleš Loprais won with a gap of twenty seconds.

            “After ceremonial start in Lima we took a really boring essential two hundred and fifty kilometres long transfer to timed special section. Special section had just thirty kilometres, but it was hard anyway. Martin did well, so it is a great start,“ told Daniel Kozlovský, on-board technician of silver truck from MKR Technology design team.

            First of fourteen stages after ceremonial start in Peruvian Lima took all the teams into finish town of Pisco. The last thirty kilometres of timed section were in sand and the teams had to fight dunes right away. Czech driver Aleš Loprais tackled them best in twenty five minutes. Dutch-Czech team with van den Brink and Kozlovský on Renault truck lost exactly twenty two seconds. Russian Nikolaev took the bronze. Other two north-bohemian trucks took thirteenth place (Huzink) and nineteenth place (van Kasteren).

            Mammoet Rallysport Truck from Židovice will start the second section on a fantastic second position. Both start and finish are in Pisco, but this time the kilometres ratio is reversed. Out of two hundred kilometres in total almost two hundred and seventy is a special section and they are mostly on sand again.
