Six hundred clients enjoyed adrenaline week

24.9.2016

Six hundred clients enjoyed adrenaline week Unorthodox, unique, packed with adrenaline, contests and fun, simply unforgettable. Those are the attributes of a spectacular event organized jointly by the North Bohemia based MKR Technology and Renault Trucks for customers from Central and Eastern Europe. The experience day took place in the military area in Senica, Slovakia, with the Dakar specials playing the main role.

‘I believe that a day like that will be one to remember for customers of Renault Trucks, with whom we have been working with for many years already. During the past week nearly six hundred of them came to visit us to a remote wasteland, located not far behind the Czech border, which reminds one of a desert. It was a demanding week for everyone. The technology was running 100% every single day, and the same could be said about the whole team of mechanics and constructors. All of that brought us many positive reactions. It was simply superb, the customers had a great time, they got to see how a Dakar team works and above all, took home a number of experiences,’ summed up the satisfied Klára Kress, boss of the MKR Technology development team, who built racing trucks for the legendary Dakar as part of the MKR Adventure project.

Every day of the past week over a hundred customers had the chance to spend a day in the style of a distance rally. The programme was extraordinary. It included offroad skill drives with a lorry, buggy competitions, commented technical tours with the renowned designer Mario Kress and in particular, exhibition rides with a Dakar truck. Naturally, the guests could enjoy luxurious hospitality in Mobilbar and exquisite catering. MKR Technology brought their three trucks to Senica, two K520s and the unique Sherpa prototype, which enabled the Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink to take home bronze medal from the world’s longest rally, the Silk Way. Experienced pilots of the Dutch Mammoet Rallysport and Riwald Dakar Team – Martin van den Brink, Pascal de Baar and Gert Huzink - also attended the event. Everyone who got into the cockpit could be sure that a true professional was at the steering.

It’s no coincidence that the whole event took place in Slovak’s Senica. Indeed, local military area serves for testing Dakar technology. The teams have excellent conditions for simulating driving in the desert and sand dunes. ‘Testing conditions are really hard here, which is necessary for developing technology and determining service-life, and so people onboard often feel like in a shaker, which even amplifies the experience,’ smiled Klára Kress, stating that cooperation with Renault Trucks is going to continue in this respect. ‘We’re planning to expand. We’ve been looking for other suitable locations in Europe,’ suggested Klára Kress the team’s plans.
