The Silk Road brought bronze on the second day The North Bohemian truck by MKR Technology got bronze in the second stage of the Silk Way Rally. In addition, Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink moved to fourth place in the overall leaderboard. Belarusian driver Viazovich go another victory and is in overall lead.

“Martin started calmly, and he is excellent. In the last part, his injection was not working properly, and he was using only five cylinders. He more or less maintained his speed. Unfortunately, these things can’t be foreseen, but we've put everything together and look forward to the next stage,” said Daniel Kozlovský from MKR Technology design team.

The second stage from Baikalsk to Ulan-Ude was over four hundred kilometers long. The measured special section had exactly two hundred and twelve kilometers. Stage was going over rocky paths over a mountain pass. The winner of the initial leg, Sergei Viazovich with MAZ, tackled it the best and needed exactly two and a half hours. The third rider Martin van den Brink arrived with his Renault with a loss of six and a half minutes. “It was a tough stage. I know that MAZ riders have encountered some technical problems, which cost them some time and we made up time in overall standings, but it is no point in to speak about it, because every day is different and the way to the finish is long and the pitfalls and failures of the course don’t spare anyone,”said Kozlovský.

Viazovich is holding overall lead. Van den Brink improved to fourth. On Tuesday, crews will tackle stage 3 from Ulan-Ude to Ulaanbaatar, which has nearly seven hundred kilometers. The timed special section is less than two hundred and fifty. On top of it, the crews will get into the mountains. The will ride through dangerous ravines up to fifteen hundred meters of altitude. "We've got a long way to go. The transfers are long not only for competitors but also for their support team. We still deal with six-hour jet lag,”added Daniel Kozlovský.
