Pasau/Friedrichshafen – The ZF company, a world-renowned German gear-box producer, has celebrated one-hundred-year anniversary of its founding. The spectacular celebration was attended also by our Dakar special which had a special automatic transmission developed by ZF in co-operation with our MKR Technology.
“We brought the Dakar special both to the company’s headquarters in Friedrichshafen and production plant in Passau, where employees with their families as well as the general public could come to have a look at it,“ commented the team’s manager Klára Kress.
The celebrations stretched over two weekends. The Dakar truck was first launched in the first half of July in Passau, where gear-boxes and components for agricultural machines and heavy machinery are produced. Past weekend it moved to Friedrichshafen near Bodensee, where the company was originally founded . Nowadays, gear-boxes and components for lorries, buses, military technology, ships, trains, special machinery and frames are produced. The organizers conceived each weekend with a Saturday for employee families and Sunday for the general public. “Our truck, developed together with ZF, was seen by thousands of visitors in a short while. We’ve gone a long way with ZF and it‘s always really nice to stop and take a look back. Also, it’s wonderful to see how curious and excited people get when looking at the results of our work. In moments like those you realize that you spend time doing things that influence even bigger innovations and have greater impact in general than you would have thought. I believe that together with ZF we will be able to constantly discover new technological possibilities and always be one step ahead of the competition,“ confessed our team’s chief designer Mario Kress.
