Three days before the finish, a hybrid special from northern Bohemia of the MKR Technology team is done in Dakar. The same as Aleš Loprais' truck, Gert Huzink's crew paid for the treacherous dune in the 10th stage of the famous long-distance race. The hard and unexpected impact of the truck literally broke the chassis in two. But the crew is ok. The second of the trucks with pilot Pascal de Baar continues in the race.

Ups and downs. Dakar is like that. One day you thrive, the next day a cold shower comes. This is exactly how Gert Huzink's crew of the North Bohemian truck must have felt. While they were having a great time yesterday, today the crew finished the 8th stage on Monday due to a broken sensor outside top 10 in emergency mode.
Both crews of the North Bohemian Renault team of the MKR Technology workshop coped well with beginning of the second half of the 44th Dakar. Pilot Gert Huzink completed the 7th stage in the sixth fastest time, his colleague Pascal de Baar finished thirteenth.

The North Bohemian truck from the MKR Technology workshop recorded the best result so far in the 4th stage of Dakar. Less than half an hour was the gap between both North Bohemian Renaults and the winner of the 2nd Dakar stage. The Dakar was heavily affected by rain, which required a change in the program. Instead of the marathon part, the crews moved to the next bivouac, which both crews were happy about, and Gert Huzink took full advantage of this.
Dakar is showing right from the very beginning that this year's 44th edition will be no walk in a park. While the hybrid special in the 1B stage was slowed down by a broken pipe to intercooler, the second North Bohemian Renault got 15-minute penalty and dropped out of top ten. However, both special trucks from MKR Technology will continue to fight all the pitfalls.
