Three days before the finish, a hybrid special from northern Bohemia of the MKR Technology team is done in Dakar. The same as Aleš Loprais' truck, Gert Huzink's crew paid for the treacherous dune in the 10th stage of the famous long-distance race. The hard and unexpected impact of the truck literally broke the chassis in two. But the crew is ok. The second of the trucks with pilot Pascal de Baar continues in the race.
A truck built in the North Bohemian workshop of the MKR Technology of Mario Kress team finished in the elite ten again. Pascal de Baar finished tenth with his Renault in the 9th stage and Gert Huzink's hybrid special finished just two places behind him.
Ups and downs. Dakar is like that. One day you thrive, the next day a cold shower comes. This is exactly how Gert Huzink's crew of the North Bohemian truck must have felt. While they were having a great time yesterday, today the crew finished the 8th stage on Monday due to a broken sensor outside top 10 in emergency mode.
Both crews of the North Bohemian Renault team of the MKR Technology workshop coped well with beginning of the second half of the 44th Dakar. Pilot Gert Huzink completed the 7th stage in the sixth fastest time, his colleague Pascal de Baar finished thirteenth.
Elite five again! The Dutch driver of the North Bohemian truck of the MKR Technology team, Gert Huzink, finished the 6th stage of the Dakar Rally in the fifth fastest time the day before the day off and is showing the qualities of his hybrid special truck. His colleague Pascal de Baar was also successful, so both Renaults are now in top 20 in the overall standings.
North Bohemian technicians of the MKR Technology recorded an incredible performance at the Dakar. Overnight, they were able to repair the heavily damaged Renault of Dutch pilot Pascal de Baar. He went in tear of joy when he was able to enter today's 5th stage a bit unexpectedly.
The North Bohemian truck from the MKR Technology workshop recorded the best result so far in the 4th stage of Dakar. Dutch pilot Gert Huzink with his hybrid special truck finished the longest stage of this year in the fifth best time. However, his colleague de Baar had no reason to celebrate, as he remained damaged in the middle of the stage after a hard impact.
The North Bohemian truck from MKR Technology closed the top 10 during Tuesday's 3rd stage. While pilot Pascal de Baar finished his truck on tenth position in the shortened fast stage, his partner Gert Huzink was three places down in the ranking.
Less than half an hour was the gap between both North Bohemian Renaults and the winner of the 2nd Dakar stage. The Dakar was heavily affected by rain, which required a change in the program. Instead of the marathon part, the crews moved to the next bivouac, which both crews were happy about, and Gert Huzink took full advantage of this.
Dakar is showing right from the very beginning that this year's 44th edition will be no walk in a park. While the hybrid special in the 1B stage was slowed down by a broken pipe to intercooler, the second North Bohemian Renault got 15-minute penalty and dropped out of top ten. However, both special trucks from MKR Technology will continue to fight all the pitfalls.
A pair of North Bohemian trucks of Mario Kress started the 44th annual Dakar Rally in the top ten. The pilot of the hybrid special truck Gert Huzink finished sixth, his colleague de Baar finished tenth.
The famous Dakar is here! For the third time in Saudi Arabia, the 44th edition of the world's most famous rally will start on Saturday. And Mario Kress' North Bohemian trucks will be there. This year, the MKR Technology team has prepared two special Renault trucks under the flag of the Dutch Riwald Dakar team.
