The best in the end? In the case of the performance of the MKR Technology team at this year's Rally Morocco, this is surely true. After all the bad luck and all the hardships, the North Bohemian truck wins the last 5th stage.
The North Bohemian MKR Technology team has had two sleepless nights at Rally Morocco. That’s exactly how long it took for the team of technicians to reach their damaged truck, piloted by Gert Huzink, and then makes it back to the bivouac from the treacherous dunes. But the Dutchman repaid them with the best result of the year, when he fought his way to the coveted podium in the 4th stage.
It took all night and all day to find and get the truck of the Dutch pilot Gert Huzink to the bivouac in Zagora. The crew of the North Bohemian special truck was stuck deep in the dunes during Sunday's 2nd stage of the Morocco Rally. The crew missed Monday's stage, but even with a high penalty, the team wants to repair the truck and make impact in the next stage.
A damaged front axle eliminated the Dutch pilot Gert Huzink from fight for the overall result in this year's Rally Morocco. At the same time, his Renault was among the fastest in the 2nd stage. The North Bohemian MKR Technology team wants to get Rivald Dakar team rider back into the race, but the situation is complicated by the sandy terrain.
It looked like North Bohemian truck pilot Gert Huzink would arrive for the podium in the 1st stage of the Moroccan rally. He ended up finishing just short of it when he got stuck in treacherous dunes while chasing victory.
The North Bohemian truck started this year's Rally Morocco with seventh place in the prologue. Renault, led by Dutch pilot Gert Huzink, missed one of the checkpoints on the dirt road and had to return, so even though he praised his special truck, he did not have time to erase the loss on the short course and will not start the race on Saturday from the desired favorable front position.
The truck of the North Bohemian team MKR Technology is preparing for the last sharp test before the Dakar in January. The team will start with the pilot of the Dutch Riwald Dakar team, Gert Huzink, in the next edition of the Morocco Rally on Thursday.
Four podium finishes and two stage wins. This is this year's total of North Bohemian trucks from the MKR Technology workshop. Nevertheless, a certain frustration prevails in the team after the jubilee 45th year of the legendary competition. It was not possible to achieve the goal of attacking the overall result and being in the top five. Despite this, the team performed a plethora of exhausting performances and thus confirmed that they can compete with the absolute top.
The battle is over! This year's 45th edition of the Dakar Rally reached its destination in Dammam after two difficult weeks. Although the crew of the North Bohemian truck from the MKR Technology workshop wanted to end the jubilee year on the podium, and they succesfully started the last stage that way, the explosion of the hose to the "turbo" eventually stopped them for more than quarter of an hour. The number of podium positions in the last fourteenth stage therefore did not increase. MKR Technology trucks were on the podium four times and won two stages.
Just outside the podium again! North Bohemian truck pilot Pascal de Baar finishes in the penultimate 13th stage of the 45th Dakar Rally in fourth place. He got to the front despite starting from the back after narrowly missing his start on Friday and not being allowed into the stage.
Friday the 13th, bad luck for one, joy for the other. And this dreaded day also took its toll on the 12th stage of the Dakar Rally. Pascal de Baar did not have time to start the Friday stage, on the contrary, his teammate Adwin Hoondert made his way into the elite ten for the first time in the demanding sandy stage.
Pascal de Baar is back on the podium. In the first part of the marathon's 11th stage, the racing truck pilot from Chvalín in North Bohemia finished only ten seconds behind the silver position and takes home bronze.
