The North Bohemian team MKR Technology has completed another intensive testing of Dakar trucks. Last week, the designers spent several days on a sandy surface in Poland. And the main goal of testing of the hybrid special truck was to focus on improving suspension, improving cooling and, in particular, increasing performance and reducing emissions. Team boss Mario Kress is excited about the new challenges.
It is over. The 11th edition of the Silk Way Rally had a very unusual development this year and will go down in history for several reasons. The race course was shortened by half, Russian Sotnikov got third historic victory. However, the North Bohemian truck from MKR Technology has not been forgotten, as it jumped to the final sixth place after the final 5th stage.
Just behind the elite five, the North Bohemian Renault from the MKR Technology workshop finished in the penultimate stage of the Silk Way Rally. Pilot Martin van den Brink and Kozlovský from Roudnice not only successfully tackled the marathon part, but improved by two places before the final stage as well.
The Silk Way Rally is taking a different direction. While according to the original schedule, the crews were to cross the borders of Mongolia on Sunday, but in the end, after the decision of the organizer, they continue exclusively on Russian territory. The changed stage was eventually dominated by Russian Karginov. Martin van den Brink and Kozlovský, technician from Roudnice, finished in the top ten.
Like a deja vu. The North Bohemian truck from MKR Technology arrived in the second stage of the Silk Way Rally in Russia on the same position as in the first stage. For the second time in a row, he was ranked eighth. The winner has not changed as the stage was once again dominated by Russian driver Sotnikov. On top of it, the race was affected by changes.
The Silk Way Rally started with the only North Bohemian truck from the MKR Technology workshop with technician Daniel Kozlovský from Roudnice. After Thursday's ceremony in Omsk, Russia, the first stage took place on Friday and was dominated by this year's Dakar champion Russian Sotnikov. Renault from Chvalín finished eighth in this stage.
One of the most difficult cross country rallies in the world will start on Thursday. The famous Silk Way Rally will leave Omsk, Russia, and North Bohemian truck from the workshop of Mario Kress and the MKR Technology team will be there. In addition, Daniel Kozlovský from Roudnice will be in the cabin with the Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink.
Speed up, better manage heat, reduce weight and ensure the greatest possible comfort for the crew both during the race on unpredictable long-distance tracks and in case of necessary replacements. Such a task was set by the North Bohemian designers of Dakar trucks at their MKR Technology development center in Chvalín. And they are on track to make it. The team boss Mario Kress is satisfied with the tests of the last days.
Elite five, that was the original plan of the MKR Technology team for this year's 43rd Dakar Rally. The best truck from Mario Kress' workshop was classified as eighth after two weeks of demanding competition, but as the best North Bohemian special truck in its category. Although the bold goal was not achieved and the race offered several challenging moments, there is a reason for satisfaction in the team. Out of the three Renault trucks sent to the most prestigious long-distance rally in the world, two reached the finish line. One in the elite ten, with on-board technician from Roudnice, and the other truck just behind the top ten.
It is over! The 43rd Dakar Rally is a thing of the past and a pair of MKR Technology trucks reached the finish line in the last stage in the elite ten. In the overall standings, the top ten just slipped to one of the trucks, but still, there will be a celebration in northern Bohemia. Daniel Kozlovský, on-board technician from Roudnice finished eighth in a truck category with Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink. This year, the best North Bohemian truck is from Kress' MKR Technology workshop.
Daniel Kozlovský, technician from Židovice, and Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink are heading with their Renault truck for their best Dakar result. Although the situation is not really good for them to improve in the last stage, the crew is alert and the second truck from MKR Technology with Pascal de Baar is in the same situation. There is only one stage left to the much awaited finish line.
Trucks from the North Bohemian team MKR Technology competed for the elite ten today. The Dutch pilots of the Czech Renault trucks arrived close to each other in the 10th stage of the Dakar Rally. This time Pascal de Baar was better than Martin van den Brink.
