The North Bohemian MKR Technology team has had two sleepless nights at Rally Morocco. That’s exactly how long it took for the team of technicians to reach their damaged truck, piloted by Gert Huzink, and then makes it back to the bivouac from the treacherous dunes. But the Dutchman repaid them with the best result of the year, when he fought his way to the coveted podium in the 4th stage.
It took all night and all day to find and get the truck of the Dutch pilot Gert Huzink to the bivouac in Zagora. The crew of the North Bohemian special truck was stuck deep in the dunes during Sunday's 2nd stage of the Morocco Rally. Four podium finishes and two stage wins. This is this year's total of North Bohemian trucks from the MKR Technology workshop. Nevertheless, a certain frustration prevails in the team after the jubilee 45th year of the legendary competition. Despite this, the team performed a plethora of exhausting performances and thus confirmed that they can compete with the absolute top.
The battle is over! This year's 45th edition of the Dakar Rally reached its destination in Dammam after two difficult weeks. Although the crew of the North Bohemian truck from the MKR Technology workshop wanted to end the jubilee year on the podium, and they succesfully started the last stage that way, the explosion of the hose to the "turbo" eventually stopped them for more than quarter of an hour. The number of podium positions in the last fourteenth stage therefore did not increase. MKR Technology trucks were on the podium four times and won two stages.
Just outside the podium again! North Bohemian truck pilot Pascal de Baar finishes in the penultimate 13th stage of the 45th Dakar Rally in fourth place. He got to the front despite starting from the back after narrowly missing his start on Friday and not being allowed into the stage.
