Renaults stand their ground at the Dakar, Pascal finishes on sixth place

A stage of truth. That would be a proper label for the fourth stage of the 38th year of the world’s most famous rally, the legendary Dakar. In it Pascal de Baar racing with a Czech truck from MKR Technology’s workshop attracted a lot of attention with sixth rank, though all eyes were on his team-mate Martin van den Brink, because no one could be sure if he would start in this stage. Fortunately, the whole team pulled off a miracle, enabling the crew to complete the demanding stage without any major loss.

The third Dakar stage led the crews to an altitude of nearly five thousand metres above sea level. With the special divided into two parts, it was not a joyful ride for the MKR Technology constructing team this time. While Pascal de Baar superbly fought his way to Top Ten, his colleague Martin van den Brink lost the lead.

Sensational! Czech Republic celebrates another win at the Dakar. Stage two of the world’s most prestigious rally was dominated by the Czech truck from MKR Technology’s North Bohemia workshop with the Roudnice based mechanic Daniel Kozlovský on the board. The pilot Martin van den Brink brought his Renault Trucks special to the finish in the fastest time, thus soaring to the top of the overall ranking.

A podium position after the very first stage. MKR Technology drove into the 38th Dakar Rally in a fantastic manner. The introductory short special brought Martin van den Brink on a Renault Trucks machine from the Czech technology centre a valuable bronze medal. The success is shared by the Roudnice based mechanic Daniel Kozlovský.

It is finally here! The famous Dakar rally has started and three trucks from MKR Technology’s workshop are on its racing field. On New Year’s Day the crews arrived for a gala opening on the start podium only to set off for the introductory racing stage of the 38th year of the legendary rally.

The team successfully tested their truck in Fontjoncouse in the south of France. Work in the North Bohemia based MKR Technology centre is in full swing these days as preparations for the move to the Dakar peak. Two trucks have already left and the last one is about to set off soon. On the last weekend in November all three of them are going to board a ferry to Buenos Aires for the next year of the world’s most prestigious rally which starts in January. However, the days ahead of the departure will be exhausting.

Miracles do happen! The incredible has just become reality. Renault Sherpa will be racing in the Dakar Rally! In mid-September fans were astounded by photos of the MKR Technology’s Dakar special burning to the ground during testing, taking with it all chances of a stellar performance in the Dakar. However, the team did not give up and so today they can announce that “The Sherpa is going to race at the Dakar!”

Sensational! Truck from the Czech based MKR Technology takes home another valuable trophy from the Morocco Rally OiLibya, repeating the triumph from last year. The result is even more juicy as it was recorded by the Dutch pilot Gert Huzink who was racing on the new special for the first time and the overall win is its biggest success in a distance rally to date.

Confirmed! The closely observed IAA commercial vehicles in Hannover saw the partnership deal between the North Bohemia based MKR Technology and Renault Trucks signed. Several years ago the connection brought the Constructors‘ trophy at the European Truck Racing Championship, but this time both partners are headed off-road. Renault Trucks president himself together with the designer Mario Kress presented the already running project MKR Adventure to the public.
