It is finally here! The famous Dakar rally has started and three trucks from MKR Technology’s workshop are on its racing field. On New Year’s Day the crews arrived for a gala opening on the start podium only to set off for the introductory racing stage of the 38th year of the legendary rally.
The impossible has become reality! The MKR Technology team is in fact going to compete in the Dakar with three trucks. These were officially presented for the first time this weekend at a spectacular presentation in Harskamp, the Netherlands.
Rush and stress, yet at the same time immense satisfaction. MKR Technology’s preparations for the Dakar have taken real momentum in the past few days and peaked at the end of the last week. The team successfully tested their truck in Fontjoncouse in the south of France. Coming next on the schedule is a spectacular presentations in Harskamp, Netherlands, followed by boarding a ferry to South America.
Work in the North Bohemia based MKR Technology centre is in full swing these days as preparations for the move to the Dakar peak. Two trucks have already left and the last one is about to set off soon. On the last weekend in November all three of them are going to board a ferry to Buenos Aires for the next year of the world’s most prestigious rally which starts in January. However, the days ahead of the departure will be exhausting.
Miracles do happen! The incredible has just become reality. Renault Sherpa will be racing in the Dakar Rally! In mid-September fans were astounded by photos of the MKR Technology’s Dakar special burning to the ground during testing, taking with it all chances of a stellar performance in the Dakar. However, the team did not give up and so today they can announce that “The Sherpa is going to race at the Dakar!”
Sensational! Truck from the Czech based MKR Technology takes home another valuable trophy from the Morocco Rally OiLibya, repeating the triumph from last year. The result is even more juicy as it was recorded by the Dutch pilot Gert Huzink who was racing on the new special for the first time and the overall win is its biggest success in a distance rally to date.
The pilot Gert Huzink, taming a racing truck of the North Bohemia based MKR Technology, is enjoying a fantastic premiere. With the OiLibya Rally in Morocco at its half, the racer has celebrated two wins and occupies second place in the overall ranking so far.
Confirmed! The closely observed IAA commercial vehicles in Hannover saw the partnership deal between the North Bohemia based MKR Technology and Renault Trucks signed. Several years ago the connection brought the Constructors‘ trophy at the European Truck Racing Championship, but this time both partners are headed off-road. Renault Trucks president himself together with the designer Mario Kress presented the already running project MKR Adventure to the public.
Unorthodox, unique, packed with adrenaline, contests and fun, simply unforgettable. Those are the attributes of a spectacular event organized jointly by the North Bohemia based MKR Technology and Renault Trucks for customers from Central and Eastern Europe. The experience day took place in the military area in Senica, Slovakia, with the Dakar specials playing the main role.
An unforgettable experience! In fact, even more intense than anyone could have imagined. Clients of the Renault Trucks and MKR Technology event week saw the Dakar special catch fire right during one of the concluding exhibition drives. Luckily, no one was harmed.
It’s official now. The truck built North Bohemia wins a bronze medal in the currently fastest and toughest rally of the world. The Renault Sherpa arrives at the finish on third place in general classification and records a historic result for the MKR Technology team in its first race ever. The Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink shares the great result with his team including the Roudnice mechanic Daniel Kozlovský.
We‘ve made it! The north of Bohemia has a reason to celebrate as the truck built by MKR Technology achieved an overall podium result in the world‘s longest and toughest rally, the Silk Way. In Saturday‘s leg 14 the team‘s pilot Martin van den Brink seized a bronz ranking, which he also occupies in the general classification.
