Crews of the Czech Renault trucks will not think back happily on stage three of the Silk Way Rally. In it Martin van den Brink lost the lead and his two Dutch colleagues from the allied Riwald team virtually any chances of a solid result. Moreover, it is not yet clear whether they will be able to continue the race at all. MKR Technology’s mechanics team promised to try their best overnight to prevent the world’s toughest rally from ending prematurely for either of the two.
Here we go again! As early as in stage of two of the challenging Silk Way Rally celebrate the MKR Technology team a win! The Dutch pilot Martin van den Brink arrived at the finishing line in Ufa in the fastest time, swiftly moving up to the lead of the overall ranking.
The world’s toughest rally is under way! Among participants of the Silk Way Rally, which started in Russia on Saturday, are also Renault Trucks specials constructed by the Czech MKR Technology team. The opening - and brief - leg one saw Pascal de Baar and his crew arrive on seventh place.
There is less than one week left before the next year of the world’s toughest rally starts. The Dakar is a legend, but the Russian Silk Way Rally tries hard to catch up with, or even exceed, its reputation and level of difficulty. Indeed, the organizers promise today that the next year will be even more attractive and competition there stronger. On the starting line there will be also three trucks of MKR Technology’s R&D centre based in the north of the Czech Republic. The one piloted by Martin van den Brink took home a bronze medal last year.
The North Bohemia based MKR Technology gave an excellent performance at the Morocco Desert Challenge, a globally recognized rally which whose significance closely follows that of the famous Dakar and Russian Silk Way. Not only did the truck carrying the Roudnice based mechanic Daniel Kozlovský on the board repeat its triumph from the last year, but this time also the second special, piloted by the Dutch Huzink, made a great result. Thanks to that the Czech Renaults are taking home a fantastic double from Morocco.
Even better than last year! Trucks built by the Nort Bohemia base MKR Technology have overruled the Morocco Desert Challenge rally. Not only did the Czech-Dutch crew led by the pilot Martin van den Brink and the Czech mechanic Daniel Kozlovský defend overall victory, the team of the pilot Gert Huzink added silver medal to the collection.
Also in stage six of the Morocco Desert Challenge both pilots of the North Bohemia based MKR Technology team got to the winners’ podium. Martin van den Brink finished on second and Huzink on bronze position, respectively.
MKR Technology’s trucks add yet another podium double! In stage five of the Morocco Desert Challenge the crews switched the positions they have arrived at the finishing line until now, as it was Gert Huzink on Renault Truck K520 who thrived in the demanding sand dunes.
North Bohemia’s Renault special built by MKR Technology added yet another gold at the Morocco Desert Challenge. The hattrick was recorded by the Czech-Dutch crew with the pilot Martin van den Brink in stage four, further solidifying their lead.
Sensational! Crews from the North Bohemia based MKR Technology take home a second consecutive double win. Third stage of Morocco Desert Challenge has repeated the result of the second. The Dutch Martin van den Brink and his fellow countryman celebrated gold and silver medal, respectively. Moreover, the winning Renault is carrying the Roudnice based mechanic Daniel Kozlovský onboard.
Two stages of the Morocco Desert Challenge were just enough for the Czech trucks from MKR Technology’s workshop to complete a medal collection. At the beginning the pilot Martin van den Brink, with the crew mechanic Martin van den Brink onboard, won a bronze medal. In the second stage they managed to win, as their team-mate Gert Huzink added a silver medal. All in all, stage two brought a valuable double podium to them.
Seven new stages, seven new bivouacs. There is a great week-long adventure ahead of the participants of this year’s Morocco Desert Challenge. The trucks competing in Africa will include two from the MKR Technology’s development centre. In fact, a special from the Czech technology centre dominated the race, previously known as the Libya Rally, in 2016.
