Out pilot Martin van den Brink completed the medal collection in the course of three stages of Rally OiLibya. He added the silver today after gold and bronze. Martin is a leader of the overall classification just now. In the third stage, Tomáš Vrátný finished at sixth and Pascal de Baar at eighth position.
After the initiative victory, we gained the bronze position this time. Martin van den Brink drove the third fastest time in the second stage of Rally OiLibya. He left behind the winner of Dakar Gerard se Rooy who finished as the fourth. Tomáš Vrátný reached the finish line as the eighth, Pascal de Baar as the twenty-eighth. Van den Brink is the second man of the overall standing.
First stage and first winning! Our pilot Martin van den Brink won the first stage of 370 km at Rally OiLibya in Morocco. On the amazing eight position, Tomáš Vrátný from Bonver Dakar Project finish the stage. Pascal de Baar was driving for the fourth position, but an accident stopped him and he finisth at the fiftheenth.
On Monday the OiLibya Rally started in Morroco. The five-stage „tour“ is a final run-through for us before the legendary Dakar.
One week in Slovakia’s Záhorie military area brought us not only some valuable data, but also great prestige. We organized unique adventure days for the European clients of our Renault Trucks partner.
The time of summer holidays is gone and our technology centre is buzzing with activity again. Exhibitions of the Dakar specials are about to start, only to be followed by testing and technical modifications. Our goal is crystal clear – set up the technology and create the best possible conditions for the next year of the world’s most famous rally, the renowned Dakar.
Assen – Racing circuit in the Dutch city of Assen hosted the biggest truck and racing truck meeting in Europe. Naturally, neither the Dakar special from our technology centre could miss an affair of this importance.
Pasau/Friedrichshafen – The ZF company, a world-renowned German gear-box producer, has celebrated one-hundred-year anniversary of its founding. The spectacular celebration was attended also by our Dakar special which had a special automatic transmission developed by ZF in co-operation with our MKR Technology.
Teruel - Two defects in the very finish killed pilot Arthur Ardavichus’ podium dreams on his way to defending last year’s victory in the Spanish Baja Aragon Rally. On the track there was also our mechanic Jakub Hřava with Ardavichus in the cabin. Eventually, the Kazakhstani-Czech crew occupied sixth place, while the race was dominated by De Rooy from the Netherlands. The best Tatra and Bonver Dakar Project’s pilot was Tomáš Vrátný, who came in a fourth place by only a narrow margin.
Sports fan from the Židovice village, where our technology centre is based, had a chance to see an incredibly captivating football match. Our team played the household squad in an exhibition that finished with a result more fitting for ice-hockey, a 5:5 draw.
Amazing victory! Bonver Dakar Project’s Tatra run by an engine from our technology centre triumphed at the Pharaons Rally. The Kazakhstani pilot Artur Ardavichus literally flew over the Egyptian sand dunes and achieved a well-deserved win in his category this year. The result has made us even more happy due to the fact that Ardavichus’ crew mechanic was one of our own, Jakub Hřava.
About fifteen thousand visitors of the Zahrada Čech exhibition area (translated as „The Garden of Bohemia“ in English) had the opportunity to see our Dakar special. The traditional motorshow broke visitor records and it was our truck constructed for the Dutch Mammoet Rallysport team that was among the greatest crowd-pullers.
